If you love water sports, than surely you do enjoy watching and skating yourself on the water. Surfing has rapidly become one of the most favorite water sports across the world and particularly in countries where there are many beaches and where tides are high and decent enough that we can surf on it. Though the sport originally began with surfing in ocean it has now moved into various categories like surfing in rivers where surfers surf on a standing wave rather than on the breaking wave. Some of the countries that rank very high when it comes to surfing are United States and Australia as both have many beaches and coastal areas where surfers can bring their own surf boards and enjoy surfing.
Australians by nature love games no matter what happens and since they have a lot of coastal areas, the country becomes one of the hot spot for surfing. The New South Wales also popularly known as NSW is one of the most crowded places in Australia and therefore you will find that beaches here are packed with surfers that come from all over the country. You will also find many international surfers here who come here to ride the waves and enjoy their heart out. New South Wales has a long coastal area and therefore you will find many locations here where you can surf. If you are in New South Wales you can go to Banana Coast which is near Grafton. You can even go to Newcastle which is another coastal area where surfing is very common and the waves are really good. The most popular city of Australia, Sydney is also shares the same coast and if you feel Sydney is a bit crowded than you can move to Wollangong with your surfboard.
If you are in the South Coast area, than you will find hundreds of beaches and locations from where you can move into the ocean to surf. You can go to Windang Island which is very close from Shellharbour. You can even visit places like Kiama which is very close to the sea and there you will find many beaches like Jones Beach, Boneyards, Bombo Beach and Kiama Harbour. Bass Point is another great location for surfing in South Coast Australia and here you can find locations like Piers, Redsands, and Black Box which are very popular among surfers.
Though Queensland does not have such a long coastal area it still has some of the best surfing locations in Australia. If you are in the Queensland area, than you can head towards Townsville which is another coastal location where you can surf. Brisbane and Gold Coast are two great places where you can not only enjoy surfing but also enjoy your holidays and vacations along with your family and friends. Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast are very popular among the locals who love to surf when they have some time to go for the adventure. North Queensland does have a good amount of coastal area but it is not recommended to surf there.
